365 Blog-Day 264

I had my first wreck this weekend. Woops. Rain on the highway isn't fun. Thankfully my car was fine. Lindy came in town for a wedding she was doing flowers for, so I got to keep these flowers as a souvenir. So good to see her and catch up ;)

365 Blog-Day 253

Happy Turkey Day! I'm thankful for being with these wonderful people! Home sweet home. :)

365 Blog-Day 252

We ran the Turkey Trot this morning before we ate Turkey and stuffed ourselves. We had so much fun. Caleb and I were running buddies and we stayed together the whole time. We made it in 34:54 for the 5K. Here we are reenacting crossing the finish line. It looked like we were being competitive, but really he had to push me out of the way to avoid a little kid haha
Here's the whole running crew.

365 Blog-Day 251

Cody brought his baritone home tonight and we all took turns making music for the ears.

365 Blog-Day 250

Arthur and Cody and I went to go see Jack and Jill. It was cute, but not the best movie ever. We had a good time anyhow. We listened to Christmas music in the car and we saw this sign and had to get a picture of Arthur and Cody Arthur in front of Arthur Christmas.

365 Blog-Day 249

The biggest acorn I have EVER seen!

365 Blog-Day 248

I got sushi at lunch today at the hospital cafeteria. It was surprisingly really good. I got the spicy california rolls. I have had some interesting days of observing craniotomy and hip and femur rod and pinning surgeries, wound care, and acute care in the hospital. Pretty informative observations. I have really enjoyed being at a Level 1 trauma unit hospital!

365 Blog-Day 247

I gave Uncle Arthur a haircut tonight. I initially gave him a mohawk and then went ahead and shaved it all off. Wish he had kept the mohawk haha

365 Blog-Day 246

My tires were completely worn out from me driving all over Texas and Oklahoma this year. So, I had to get new tires. Arent' they pretty though!?

365 Blog-Day 245

I went shopping at the San Antonio Texas Thrift store today and got a bunch of ski clothes for Katy's boyfriend's kids for when we go skiing at Christmas. I got 2 ski jackets, 2 bibs, 1 toboggan, 3 ski gloves, and a fleece for $63.63. Bargain shopper

365 Blog-Day 244

A lot of the devos in my daily devotional book have been focused on trusting in God with big and little decisions and being completely present for today and making the most of every opportunity. Each day seems to be the perfect message for me at that moment. The book is called Jesus Calling by Sarah Young a 365 day devotional.

365 Blog-Day 243

Walking to my car tonight and noticed how beautiful the sunset was. At least I got out in time to see the sunset. It's kind of crazy seeing the sunrise and sunset every day as I go to work and leave. Makes for a long day.

365 Blog-Day 242

Our family went to HEB encampment with Highland COC. We had so much fun relaxing, camping, playing tennis, softball, hiking, eating, playing games, frisbee, and participating in a talent show. Here is the lookout on the camp with the Frio river below, changing trees, etc. Such a lovely weekend. Much needed break from work.

365 Blog-Day 241

I carved a pumkin to be in the spirit of Halloween. I carved it in the shape of an "LV" for La Vernia-the town I'm living in with my cousins.

365 Blog-Day 240

I walked out of work and saw this. So sad right!
Then I looked up and saw this. Even more sad. He ran into the window so hard that he made an imprint in the hospital window.
Even though it was sad, I thought it was picture worthy.

365 Blog-Day 239

We got to dress up for Halloween at work. Here's me and my supervisor dressed as Dumbo and the other student dressed as an ipod.
Here is another OT dressed as a sandWitch haha

365 Blog-Day 238

Megan and I needed a head lamp, so we improvised. We put our flashlights inside of our toboggans. Hey, it worked! haha We had a great time camping at McKinney Falls. We went hiking, made hot dogs and s'mores on the propane tank, and slept in a tent. We all bundled up and tried to keep warm. It got pretty chilly. We survived.

365 Blog-Day 237

Caleb loves Southern Pecan coffee, but hasn't been able to find it anywhere. AND, where did I find it of all places? McKinney Falls State Park when we went camping. He was a happy camper that I stocked up for him.

365 Blog-Day 236

I wore my jersey all week to support the Rangers! Glad I brought it to San Antonio.

365 Blog-Day 235

Arthur and I stayed up super late watching the game that went into extra innings for the world series. We were exhausted, but glad to be supporting the Rangers.

365 Blog-Day 234

My supervisor entered a dessert decorating contest and won 2nd place. It was for Halloween, so she decorated a pumpkin pie as a cemetery. She used popsicle sticks and granola bars for the tombstones and gravesites. It was very creative.

365 Blog-Day 233

I made chicken pesto pasta for the family! Yummy! Thank you dad for teaching me. Arthur, Cody, and Kelsey enjoyed it I think

365 Blog-Day 232

I made my first splint for Uncle Arthur. He has a mallet finger, so I made him an extension splint for the DIP joint of his right ring finger. Getting closer to being a real OT!

365 Blog-Day 231

I stayed the night with my Great Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Bruce's and saw this cute frame in the bathroom. I watched the World Series over at their place to have some company.

365 Blog-Day 230

Homecoming! So good to see lifelong friends. Love ya Audj and Jen!

365 Blog-Day 229

Brittany fell asleep on dad. Too cute.

365 Blog-Day 228

Hannah, Brittany, JJ, and me with our "hand people".

365 Blog-Day 227

Sibling and significant other picture for Caleb's birthday celebration. :)

365 Blog-Day 226

It was Caleb's birthday and he had just sold his boat, so he was sad to lose it.
But happy to have money for his birthday. He said, "Happy Birthday to me!"
He turned 31! Old man haha jk

365 Blog-Day 225

Aunt Charlotte had an egg poacher that I thought Caleb would enjoy. Isn't it so cute?!

365 Blog-Day 224

WARNING: I AM ABOUT TO POST A LOT! I FINALLY GOT A CHANCE TO UPDATE MY BLOG. PLEASE EXCUSE THE LONG SABBATICAL.

This was about 6:30AM and I noticed how pretty the dew was on the plants. :) Oh the simple joys

365 Blog-Day 223

It has been raining since 4 in the morning, so I used my scarf over my hair after church and felt like an old woman. haha :) Isn't it a super cute scarf? My sister gave it to me for my birthday!
